Preview | Loughgall vs Carrick Rangers

Lakeview Park is the destination for our first away game of the season as the ‘Gers take on Loughgall.

Stuart King was delighted with how his team kicked off their campaign seven days ago; first half goals from Curtis Allen and Nedas Maciulaitis sealing a 2-0 victory against Glenavon.

King will expect his players to maintain that level of performance this afternoon but knows a challenging encounter will be in store against the Villagers.

This will be Loughgall’s first contest of the new campaign following the postponement of their fixture against Larne.

Dean Smith has been busy in the summer transfer window, strengthening his panel with the additions of goalkeeper Nathan Gartside, defenders Conor McDermott, Conor Kerr, Lewis Francis and ex-Carrick winger Conor McCloskey.

Last season’s meetings between the sides served up several close-fought encounters, such as our last visit to Lakeview Park where the hosts battled back from 3-1 down to draw level through Nathaniel Ferris’ injury time equaliser.

The ‘Gers are boosted by the return of Steven Gordon who is free from suspension having served the final game of his ban, though David Cushley, Reece Glendinning and Ben Tilney all remain sidelined through injury.
