Surgenor Stays

Carrick Rangers is delighted to announce that Mark Surgenor has signed a contract extension ahead of the new season.

It will be the 37-year-old’s ninth campaign as a ‘Gers player, having first joined under Gary Haveron in the summer of 2015 following his departure from hometown side Ballymena United.

A stalwart and fan favourite at the Loughview Leisure Arena, the seasoned defender will be keen to add to his impressive statistics of 252 appearances and 11 goals when the Sports Direct Premiership kicks-off in August.

On penning an extension to his contract, Mark Surgenor said,

“I am delighted to sign for another year. It is a really exciting time around the Club and I’m glad I will continue to be a part of it for what will be my ninth year. I feel it’s shaping up to be another successful year for us and I can’t wait for the season to start so we can get going again.”

Manager Stuart King added,

“I am delighted that Mark has agreed to an extension to stay with us. He is someone I can rely on when called upon and is a very important member of the changing room. He leads by example and is a credit to himself by the ways in which he conducts himself both on and off the field.”
