Gray, who will provide competition for the left wing-back position, started his playing days at Chimney Corner before moving to Ballyclare Comrades.
The 28-year-old has been at the Dixon Park side for the last seven years, making 165 appearances and scoring 26 goals and has previously worked under Clifford Adams as well as alongside Chris Rodgers and Stewart Nixon.
Gray was also recently a part of the Northern Ireland Junior International Squad which took part in the Jersey Quadrangular Tournament, with the new ‘Gers recruit scoring in the opening match against the Republic of Ireland.
Happy to be confirming Gray’s signature, Niall Currie said,
“I am delighted to have Adam on board. I have been an admirer of his for a long time as he has been the best player in his position in the Championship for many years. I have tried to sign Adam before but he always showed loyalty towards Ballyclare which is something I had the utmost respect for. For me, he is doing something now that he should have done many years ago so I am delighted that we have him. Everything is now in his own hands to prove the quality that we believe he has.”
Also pleased to be on board for the new season, Adam Gray commented,
“I am very happy to sign for the club after seeing what this squad did last season. I am looking forward to getting involved and pushing on again next season in what will be a great opportunity for a new challenge that I felt I needed to take.”
Welcome to Carrick Rangers, Adam! #AmberArmy
